Living Intentionally - Overcoming The Rat Race
As you go through life, it's easy to forget that you are, in actual fact, building a sculpture of your future self through the actions you take today.
You are often pressured into believing you must reach certain milestones fast, making it easy to rush through time with little thought or consideration for what you are actually doing or building.
Until eventually, you reach a point in the future, whereby, your sculpture begins to take shape, and you have to weigh up whether or not you like the sculpture you are moulding into.
How are you going to feel about that sculpture?
How you feel about your sculpture will depend on several factors, however, one of the most important factors is how carefully and thoughtfully you built your sculpture.
The time you put into building the sculpture is ultimately what determines the final outcome.
If you didn't give your future self enough thought, then it's very plausible that you may not be happy with the sculpture you have crafted.
And once the sculpture has been moulded over a long period of time, it becomes a lot harder to undo the sculpture, for time is the sculptor, and time lost is hard to recover; yet, this doesn't mean it's impossible.
So how can you build a sculpture that you are happy with?
Fortunately, there are multiple things you can do to shape and reshape your sculpture.
As humans, we have a high degree of neuroplasticity, which means if we are willing enough we can make our brain networks change, evolve, and develop.
This also means that we can change and reshape our sculpture.
Although it isn't always easy, it's very much possible to build a sculpture you are happy with if you spend more time reflecting and becoming conscious of what it is that you want out of life.
This requires you to become more mindful and aware of your current habits and behaviours and understanding whether or not they are serving you.
Remember the sculpture is in your hands, you have to be willing enough to mould it into something you like.
